DVR4CHSOUH264 - Audio Not Working

I recently purchased new in the UK a DVR4CHSOUH264 with Software 7.09.06 13D4E and Hardware Rev: 1.3 and now trying to get the audio to work. I have special CCTV microphones with preamps and when the audio is 'enabled' on the 'record' page of the DVR, they come out loud and clear with about a second delay, so putting the microphone near the speaker causes an echo build up. However, as soon as I escape from the 'record' page the audio completely stops working. I get nothing LIVE or RECORDED! It would seem from the above that the audio input and ouput is working o/k. SO WHY DOES THE AUDIO NOT OPERATE DURING NORMAL OPERATION.

Our technician Nathan has emailed you regarding this issue. If there are any further issues regarding the audio please contact us again so we may resolve them.

Yes I have the email thanks. Basically the audio does not operate when viewing more than one camera at a time although it is recording.
